论李光耀的实用主义高等教育观

摘　　要：作为新加坡的开国元勋,李光耀及其实用主义高等教育观对新加坡的高等教育产生了重要影响。李光耀的个性特点和新加坡高等教育发展的需要,使李光耀逐渐形成了他的实用主义高等教育观。李光耀从实用主义的角度审视高等教育,重视高校专门人才、国际化人才和实用型人才的培养。李光耀同时为新加坡引进了大量人才,建立了两所具有世界一流水平的大学,推动了新加坡高校的国际合作,也构建了新加坡独具特色的高等教育制度和职业教育制度。在国土面积狭小,资源匮乏的情况下,新加坡的高等教育能够迅速发展起来,离不开李光耀实用主义高等教育思想的影响。As the founder of the Republic of Singapore,Lee Kuan Yew＇s pragmatic concepts of higher education pragmatism had greatly influenced Singapore＇s progress in higher education,which was developed with the characteristic of Lee Kuan Yew＇s personalities and the nation＇s need.His pragmatic philosophy emphasized introduction of specialized,internationalized and applied talents,thus successfully establishing two world-class universities that represent Singapore＇s unique system of higher education and vocational education.His pragmatic concepts contributed much to Singapore＇s rapid advance of higher education,despite its small and narrow size with limited resources.
