摘　　要：The publication Lyrical Ballads in 1798 marked the beginning of romanticism, which appeared in England as a new trend in literature at the turn of 18 th and 19 th centuries. The majority of the poems in this collection were written by Wordsworth who was made poet laureate in 1843. After published four versions of Lyrical Ballads, Wordsworth published Poems, in Two Volumes in 1807. However, it didn't bring him as glory as Lyrical Ballads did. Furthermore, Many notable poems included in the Poems, in Two Volumes have been appreciated and studied by many scholars at home and abroad such as"I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud","Ode: Intimations of Immortality","The Solitary Reaper"."This paper will choose one of the poems in the collection","Resolution and Independence", which has not been taken notice of to talk about the multiple images the leech gatherer to explore the reason that he changed the title of the poem as well as the complicated feelings of Wordsworth in the poem.The publication Lyrical Ballads in 1798 marked the beginning of romanticism, which appeared in England as a new trend in literature at the turn of 18 th and 19 th centuries.
