翻译伦理视角下的林纾前后阶段翻译差异之原因

摘　　要：林译小说在中国近现代翻译史上占有重要地位,是特定时代条件下的特殊产物,按其质量和接受程度的标准可分为前后两个阶段。林纾的翻译行为受翻译伦理的操纵,林译小说的阶段性差异反映出林纾译者伦理和翻译伦理的变化。清末民初的社会现实、林纾的道德观念、他对待翻译的态度及个人的生活和情感经历都对其翻译施以影响。以翻译伦理这一独特视角,从林纾翻译的使命感、目的、文本选择和读者伦理四个伦理因素出发,可以具体分析林译小说在前后两个阶段存在差异的原因。翻译伦理对加深对林纾和林译小说的认识有一定的启发。Lin Shu’ s translated novels hold an important position in the history of modern Chinese translation.His translation practice,manipulated by the translation ethics of his era,can be roughly divided into two stages by the year 1913 according to the standards of quality and acceptance of his translated works.The translation of Lin Shu is profoundly influenced by harsh social reality,his moral sense,his attitude towards translation and personal life and emotional experiences.There are striking differences between Lin Shu’ s translated novels in the two stages,the reason for which can be better understood from the four prominent factors in translation ethics： his sense of mission for translation,purpose of translation,source text selection and readers’ ethics.Translation ethics provides an instructive approach to the understanding of Lin Shu and his translated novels.
