Ulcerative colitis or crohn's disease is a kind of chronic, relapsing and relieving clinical intestinal disease. Clinically, these diseases were collectively known as inflammatory bowel disease. Neuropsychological studies have shown that inflammatory bowel diseases have relationship with stress, mood disorders, mental disorders and cognitive function. Because the disease is characterized by alternation of recurrent and remission, even in remission, the recurrence of disease is unpredictability and uncertainty, which will lead to the patient's anxiety and depression, and further lead to disease recurrence. Use of blood oxygen level dependent functional magnetic resonance(BOLD-f MRI) technology on brain neurons activity and measurement based on voxel morphology(VBM) of morphological structure have made preliminary research results. The purpose of this paper is to review the interaction of brain morphology, cranial neurons activity and inflammatory bowel disease, and the research progress of functional brain imaging in this field.
