摘　　要：Ice and fire are originally the natural phenomena. When the writer—Charlotte Bronte focused all her attention on describ-ing them in Jane Eyre, however, they had been gifted a lot of emotion, ambience, even the deep meaning of the leading role's fate,and the writer's world view and consciousness of revolt. Therefore, ice and fire were upgraded to imagery having many meaningsfrom the common natural phenomena. Meanwhile, they brought some dark and gloomy feeling to the novel, because they indicatedthe future of the characters by means of every side and angle, profoundly revealing the theme of the novel.Ice and fire are originally the natural phenomena.
