Objective To investigate the clinical, imaging and pathological features, similarities and differences between benign fibrous histiocytoma( BFH) and non-ossifying fibroma( NOF)/fibrous cortical defect( FCD). Methods The clinical and pathological data of 16 cases of BFH and 48 cases of NOF were retrospectively analyzed and compared. Results The age, gender, predilection and prognosis of BFH and NOF/FCD were statistically significant( P = 0. 000). There was no significant difference in clinical symptoms between the two groups( P〈0.05).There was no significant difference in imaging findings between the two groups( P〉0.05).There was no significant difference in pathological features between the two groups( P〉0.05).Conclusion BFH and NOF are two independent diseases. The diagnosis and differential diagnosis depend on the combination of clinical, imaging and pathological histomorphology.Correct diagnosis and treatment can improve the prognosis.
