摘　　要：文学中的地理空间具有重要的认识价值,承载着作家对地域的构想。本文通过对当代非裔美国作家托尼·莫里森不同时期文学文本的研究发现,美国南方具有突出的文化特征及社会意义,即南方作为黑人文化的发源及传承地促进了该群体的文化身份建构,南方作为黑人乌托邦实验场所呈现出鲜明的政治愿景,以及南方作为当代黑人文化治疗的理想之境回应西方现代性危机。通过对美国南方的想象性建构,莫里森意在强化美国黑人的文化身份认同,引导人们重新审视黑人文化的现实意义,并藉此抵御和缓释现代社会种种流弊的影响。The geographical space in literature has important cognitive value and is closely related to the writer＇s imaginative construction of the region. Through exploration of the contemporary African-American writer Toni Morrison＇s novels of different periods, this paper presents that the American South has distinctive cultural features and social significance. As the place of origin and inheritance of African-American culture, the South promotes the identity construction of that group; as utopian experimental sites of African-Americans, the South displays the people＇s distinctive political vision; and as an ideal place for cultural treatment of contemporary African-Americans, the South itself is also a response to Western modernity crisis. Through the imaginative construction of the American South, Morrison intends to strengthen cultural identity of African-Americans, and leads people to re-examine the practical significance of African-American culture so as to resist and slow down the negative impacts of modern society.
