摘　　要：早在上世纪80年代,英国的马克思主义历史学家拉斐尔·萨缪尔就注意到了英国的民族认同问题。他通过对英国人民族观念的实质分析,以及比较不同时期英国人对国家的态度,得出英国的民族认同正处于解体中的论断,并对其中原因进行了探析,其目的是为了批评撒切尔政府打着民族的旗号发动对阿根廷的马尔维纳斯群岛战争,以及削减工人福利、镇压工人罢工的内外政策。拉斐尔·萨缪尔对英国民族认同的分析对于当今民族国家处理民族认同问题具有启发意义。As early as 1980s, Raphael Samuel, a British Marxist historian, was aware of the problem of British national identity. By analyzing the essence of national idea of British people, and comparing different attitudes of British people towards their nation in different periods, he concluded that British national identity was unraveling. Then he probed the reasons for the unraveling of British national i dentity for the purpose of critique on the domestic and foreign policy of Thatcher administration which, in the name of nation, waged the Malvinas War against Argentina and cut down the welfare of the workers and suppressed their strikes. His analysis of British national identity gives enlightenment for modern nations to deal with national identity.
