摘  要:从关联-顺应论的视角,探讨扬州旅游官网外宣资料翻译的缺陷及改进措施。关联即尽量忠实地反映原文化,顺应即顺应游客的认知能力和审美期待。本研究综合运用直译、音译加解释、直译加解释、意译、合译、省略、变汉语小句为英语复合句等手法修改景观名称的英译文,补充了景观的数量、年代、历史文化和美学信息,助力扬州旅游业的发展。Based on the Relevance-Adaptation Theory, this paper discusses the deficiencies of translating pub- licity materials in official tourism website of Yangzhou and their measures for improvement. Relevance is to re- flect the original culture as faithfully as possible while adaptation is to adapt to the cognitive ability and aes- thetic expectations of the tourists. The paper makes use of several translation techniques, such as literal trans- lation, transliteration plus explanation, literal translation plus explanation, free translation, combination, o- mission, turning Chinese simple sentences into English complex sentences, to modify the English translation of scenery names and supply the information like the number of landscapes, age of construction, historical, cul- tural and aesthetic information, thus promoting the tourism development in Yangzhou.
