Tumor is a neogrowth formed by local tissue cells when organism is undergoing the action of various tumor inducing factors. According to the cell characteristics and the degree of harm to the body of the neogrowth, tumor can be divided into two categories: benign tumor and malignant tumor. Malignant tumors are serious threat to human life and health. Cancer stem cells have the ability of‘self replicating',‘high metastatic'and‘multicellular differentiation',which are easy to have the ability of drugs resistance. Therefore, the treatment of cancer stem cells will be more effective in clinical treatments of cancer. Non-coding RNAs,also called ncRNAs for short, act as founctional regulators mediating regulation of cells. Studies have shown that lots of ncRNAs,especially miRNAs and lncRNAs,take parts in NOTCH signaling pathway, and play very important roles in various cancer stem cells.NOTCH signaling pathway is an evolutionary conserved signaling pathway that regulates cell proliferation, apoptosis and stem cell metabolism. It also plays an important role in the growth of cancer stem cells. We summarize the internal mechanism among non-coding RNA,NOTCH pathway and cancer stem cells, and their interactions can provide new ideas for the clinical treatment of cancer.
