摘　　要：菲茨杰拉德文学创作吸收了印象派绘画的特色。在其代表作《了不起的盖茨比》中,"爵士乐时代"的节奏和内容通过印象派绘画的手法传达的淋漓尽致。本文拟通过分析《了不起的盖茨比》中与光相关的描绘,探索作者菲茨杰拉德融汇印象派特色到小说创作中的意义:烘托情节布局、丰富人物刻画、凸显矛盾视野及深化"美国梦"的幻灭这一主题。The literary works of Fitzgerald is tinted with the characteristics of impressionism.In his representative work The Great Gatsby,the technique of impressionism has been employed to vividly convey the tempo and content of Jazz Age.This paper sets out to analyze the depiction of light in The Great Gatsby,so as to explore the significance behind Fitzgerald's incorporation of characteristic of impressionism into the novel: dramatize the plot,enrich portrait of characteristics,express the contradictory vision and deepen the theme of disillusion of American Dream.
