翻译行为理论关照下的电影字幕译者地位分析

摘　　要：电影字幕翻译是电影走向国际市场的关键,也是翻译实践的重要组成部分,但翻译研究对其译者地位的关注却还远远不够。文中从德国翻译功能理论角度对字幕翻译译者地位进行研究,探讨译者在字幕翻译行为中的多重角色。对电影《霸王别姬》字幕译者贾佩琳(Linda Jaivin)的采访为本文的分析提供了有力的实证支持,使文中对译者地位的论述更为客观全面。Subtitle translation,an indispensable part in films distributed in the foreign markets,is yet to gain sufficientattention from translation studies,not to mention any specialized study on the status of subtitle translators.Thispaper,from a functionalist perspective,studies subtitle translators'multiple roles in the case of Linda Jaivin,the subtitletranslator of the Farewell,My Concubine.Her account of translation sheds light on translation practice and revealsthe dilemma which subtitle translators face,which provides a more objective basis for analyzing subtitle translators'status.
