摘 要:二语写作作为学习者语言文本输出的方式,涉及到对长期记忆中的语篇结构知识的提取和重组。本文从Hoey的语义单位关系理论框架入手,对英语专业二年级学生限时作文文本进行个案分析,探讨了中国大学生英语议论文写作中小句关系表征的差异,指出了句子层面和语篇层面的语言组织中所存在的问题。通过解决这些问题可以帮助学生克服写作结构松散、缺少主题和逻辑表达混乱的缺陷,对认识中介语的特点和英语写作教学具有启示意义。ESL writing,as a form of written output of language learners,involves the retrieval and reconstruction ofthe knowledge of discourse patterns stored in their long-term memory.This paper explores,with the help of MichaelHoey's theory of clause relation,the differences in the use of surface structures to construe clauses in the argumentativewriting for Chinese English majors.In the meantime,it points out some problems,through the detailed analysis of twotexts,such as loose structures,lack of focus and mess of logic in the organization of language at the sentence and discourselevels.Discourse analysis by clause relation theory is beneficial for the teachers to learn about the features of interlanguage,especially of great use in improving the quality of learners'written output and the materials development.
