摘　　要：Theodore Dreiser is a well-known American novelist from naturalist school. In 1900, his first novel, Sister Carrie, was published and its Chinese version came out in 2006 translated by Qiu Zhuchang. This novel has aroused various disputes.Nevertheless, it cannot be denied that his remarkable work has blazed a trail for the new trend of American literature.
