摘 要:《红楼梦》中饮食之全,花样之繁,堪称中国饮食文化的一个缩影,而其中的精致茶食更是令人难以忘怀。如何通过英译将中国特色茶食介绍给世界,进而推动中国餐饮业的国际化,逐渐成为当下译者关注的热点问题。通过语义分析法和文本分析法,《红楼梦》茶食名称中含有的中国传统文化元素一览无遗。而对翻译大家杨宪益、戴乃迭夫妇和David Hawks&John Minford的英译本对比分析则进一步证明,合格的译者应具有源语文化意识,在茶食名称的翻译中保留中国传统文化元素,而"混杂"式的文化翻译方法则是译者的首选。如此一来,世界才能通过译者正确传神的英译深刻了解中国茶食文化的魅力。Dream of Red Mansions is a microcosm of Chinese diet culture,and the exquisite refreshments are unforgettable.How to introduce Chinese refreshment culture to the world through translation and promote the internationalization of Chinese catering industry are of great importance.Through the semantic analysis and text analysis,it is not difficult to find that the refreshments’names in Hong Lou Meng contain a lot of elements of traditional Chinese culture.From the cultural translation perspective,the paper selects the refreshments’names from Dream of Red Mansions two whole English versions and makes a contrasting study about the choice of translations strategies between David Hawkes(and John Minford)and Yang Xianyi(and Gladys Yang)in the hope of improving the effectiveness of Chinese refreshments’names translation and boosting Chinese refreshments culture.It is suggested that the translator should think with cultural awareness,pay attention to Chinese traditional cultural elements,and take foreignizing strategy to retain Chinese tea culture.
