摘 要:宇文所安在唐诗史研究中有其新见:首次对初唐诗进行整体研究,发掘宫廷诗三部式结构,重新界定陈子昂文学地位;颠覆诸多盛唐文学成说;引入"中世纪"这一视角,以呈现出不同于以往的中唐文学风貌;对晚唐诗歌进行互文性研究,提出文学史不等于朝代史的文学史观。但他的唐诗史研究,也有明显的误读和偏见:如对寒山、王梵志以及女诗人的忽略,"中世纪"视角研究的有效性问题,选文定篇比例严重失衡等。梳理其唐诗史研究中的新见和缪见对于国内始于二十世纪八十年代的重写文学史热潮是回顾也是反思。In his study of Tang poetry history,Stephen Owen has made some creative and original contributions:being the first scholar to have studied poetry of the early Tang as a whole;summarizing the structure of court poetry as tripartite form;redefining the literary position of CHEN Zi-ang;subverting some established sayings concerning the High Tang poetry;adopting the concept of“Middle Ages”in his analysis of Middle Tang poetry and presenting a new literary landscape of that period;making a unique study of late Tang poetry from the perspectives of intertextuality;and putting forward the view that literary history does not necessarily equal the history of dynasty.Stephen Owen,however,has also had some misreadings and misunderstandings in his research on the history of Tang poetry:neglecting important poets like HAN Shan,WANG Fan-zhi and women poets;the validity of his employment of the term“Middle Ages”;and loss of balance and proportion in terms of pages given to each poet.Teasing out the findings and misunderstandings of Stephen Owen is a reviewing and rethinking of rewriting Chinese literary history,an academic trend which started in the 1980s.
