摘　　要：Appellation is a sign of social status and social relations to certain relationships and roles in human society.It reflects the social cultur e and the w ay of thinking and c ommunication.Owing to different languages,cultural backgrounds and social structures,there are a lot of differences between English and Chinese appellation.In this paper,we will talk about these differences in terms of family appellation briefly.Appellation is a sign of social status and social relations to certain relationships and roles in human society.
