以王言褒忠臣:柳宗元《南霁云睢阳庙碑》的骈体写作用心  

Honoring the Loyal Officials in Royal Style:Why Liu Zongyuan Made the Inscription on Nan Jiyun's Temple Monument in Suiyangin Parallel Style

摘　　要：柳宗元《南霁云睢阳庙碑》是褒扬安史忠臣的重要作品。唐肃宗于至德二年(757年)对张巡、许远、南霁云进行褒赠,并命于睢阳为三人立庙。然而迟至近五十年后,这些忠臣祠庙才得以树碑。树碑之迟反映了中唐朝野对待忠义之士的不同态度,即中央大力褒扬,而地方的回应不无冷漠。韩愈的《张中丞传后叙》、柳宗元的《南霁云睢阳庙碑》,对于忠节观念的强化,起了显著的推动作用。《南霁云睢阳庙碑》所采用的四六骈俪之体,是唐代翰林学士撰写王言朝命的通行文体。柳宗元用这样的文体创作碑文,呼应了中央朝廷对忠臣的褒扬之义。作为褒忠之作,《南霁云睢阳庙碑》着重树立中央权威,而《张中丞传后叙》则具有更为丰富的思想内涵。深入理解《南霁云睢阳庙碑》的现实用心和文体选择,对于认识韩愈《张中丞传后叙》这一忠义书写经典之作的思想价值也有积极的启发意义。The Inscription on Nan Jiyun s Temple Monument in Suiyang,made by Liu Zongyuan,is an important work to honor the royal officials who guarded the royal regime during the An-shi Rebellion in in the Tang dynasty from 755 to 763.Emperor Suzong praised Zhang Xun,Xu Yuan and Nan Jiyun in 757 and ordered to establish a temple for the three loyal officials in Suiyang in the same year.However,the establishment of the temple monument had been delayed for nearly 50 years.This reflects the local apathy in Suiyang to the imperial court about honoring loyal officials.The parallel style of the inscription is a common style adopted by scholars in the Imperial Academy of the Tang dynasty to record the emperor s words and royal court s orders.Liu Zongyuan employed this style to make the inscription to echo the royal court s order to honor the loyal officials.The inscription emphasized on the building of the royal court s authority,whereas Han Yu s Epilogue of Zhang Xun s Biography,another classic work for honoring loyal officials,made a profound interpretation of loyalty.The two works had significantly strengthened the ideas of loyalty.A thorough understanding of Liu Zongyuan s Inscription on Nan Jiyun s Temple Monument in Suiyang is also with positive enlightening significance in recognizing the value of Han Yu s Epilogue of Zhang Xun s Biography.
