摘　　要：陈从周先生(1918-2000)凭借浸濡传统文化的家学师承,在20世纪下半叶的社会大环境变迁中因借历史机缘,成为中华文人造园的继承者、总结者、传播者和践行者。他的人生是一个传统文人在历史转型期留下的具有时代标本价值的文化遗产,所著的《说园》和《梓室余墨》是他一生思想、行迹、社交的精华和见证,合璧堪称一部现代版的《履园丛话》。In the latter half of the 20 th century in China,a period of social change,driven by his passion for traditional culture,Chen Congzhou(1918 2000)became a prominent figure in preserving,summarizing,popularizing and practicing the application of the historical scholar-official spirit to garden-making art.His life itself is a cultural legacy with the value of the specimens of the time since he is a traditional scholar living in the era of historical transformation.His two works On Chinese Gardens and Writing in My Study are the quintessence and witness of his academic thoughts,life experience and social interaction.They combined together can be regarded as the modern version of Words of Garden Clump.
