摘　　要：《红字》中的罪之产生既有主观又有客观原因。置于历史宏大叙事角度,霍桑笔下人物的原罪与惩罚仅是人类内部的纷扰与缠斗。可悲的是,原罪的始作俑者与惩罚的施动者皆是小说视阈下历史的悲者。The cause of original sin resides in both subjective and objective elements in The Scarlet Letter.Placed in the perspective of historical narrative,Hawthorne treated the original sin and penalty under the circumstances of human troubles in and wrestles with themselves.The tragedy is that the original sinner and executer of penalty are both historic victims from the angle of fictional legend.
