摘　　要：《那里是有点什么》刻画了一个既怀疑上帝而又不敢与上帝彻底决裂的犹太拉比形象。通过这一具有象征意味的拉比形象,辛格细腻而又深刻地展现了犹太人对上帝的矛盾情节,内心所遭受的痛苦煎熬并揭示了其背后表层以及深层原因。而小说最终又暗指回归上帝与犹太教信仰才是获得内心宁静和救赎的唯一途径。Something Is There depicts a Jewish rabbi who doubts the existence of God but dare not break up with God.Through this symbolic rabbi image,Singer profoundly and meticulously unveils Jews'ambiguous attitude toward God,their misery and spiritual torture and analyses the ostensible and deep reasons behind it.Ultimately the novel suggests that turning to God and Jewish belief is the only way to inner-heart calmness and redemption.
