摘　　要：本文回顾了语言学习动机研究的历史和发展,介绍了最新的CDST(Compl ex Dynami cs Syst em Theor y)复杂动态系统理论在这一领域的运用,并指出用复杂动态系统理论指导动机研究虽然能更逼近动机的复杂实际,但在研究的具体操作层面有很多困难,研究成果对实际的教学指导意义也比较局限。This article reflected upon the history and development of motivation theories in SLA.It introduced a new approach to motivation in language study,namely Complex Dynamics System Theory.At the end the author pointed out that though CDST is more true to the complicated fact of motivation,its lack of certainty makes the application of this approach challenging and the research findings yielded will give limited enlightenment to real language teaching.
