摘　　要：教育中介组织在美国高等教育系统中的地位显赫,美国大学协会(AAU)是美国高等教育中介组织的典型代表。美国大学协会作为世界公认的一流研究型大学联盟,不仅指导其成员大学完善研究生及博士教育,为政府决策提供咨询及建议,还有力地协调大学与政府的关系,对美国高等教育发展以及政府决策行为产生深远影响,得到社会各界的广泛认可。AAU如此高的社会地位正是来源于其强大的社会服务能力。文章从目标意识、处理联邦与大学关系、规则意识、专业能力以及国际化水平等五个方面分析美国大学协会组织的社会服务能力。美国大学协会的成功经验提示:要提高中国民间高等教育中介组织的社会服务能力,需要加强组织的战略管理水平、专业水平、运营水平和国际化交流合作水平。Intermediary organizations play a prominent role in American higher education system, in which the Association of American Universities (AAU) is a typical example.As a first-class world-recognized research university union, AAU, on the one hand, guides its member universities to improve graduate and doctoral education and provide consultation to the government;on the other hand, it also coordinates the relationship between the government and the universities, exerting a profound influence on the development of higher education and the government decision-making behaviors.Owing to its strong social service function, AAU is recognized by every level of society and has a high social status in America.This paper will analyze the social service function of AAU from the following 5 respects: goal consciousness, handling of relationship between federal government and universities, rule consciousness, professionalism and internationalization level.AAU's success suggests that to improve the social service function of China's intermediary organizations, it is necessary to enhance the organizations' levels of strategic management, professionalism, operation, and international communication and cooperation.
