摘 要:新旧思想文化论战既是五四新文化运动的基本构成方式,也奠定了五四新文化继承者和研究者们看待"新派"与"旧派"的二元固化模式。五四新文化运动中新旧思想文化最为激烈的论战发生在1919年,重回论战现场,便可发现,在新青年派的有意挑战中,除了林纾以螳臂当车的姿态参与论战以外,被骂为"桐城谬种"和"选学妖孽"的旧派几乎集体选择了沉默和隐忍。在新文化、新思想锐不可当的冲击下,旧派在不屑与辩、不敢与辩、无力置辩中无不显示出了暮气与颓唐。但必须承认,旧派构成了五四文化的有效组成部分,促成了五四新文化运动和文学革命全面展开。五四时期的新旧论战是你中有我、我中有你的关系。The cultural discussion between radicalism and conservatives is the basic structure of the May4 th Movement, which also influenced and solidified the thinking patterns of the researchers when they judged the new and the old. Back to the history scene in 1919, we can find that when faced with the intentional challenge and even ridicule, most of the old-school chose to keep silence, except Lin Shu who threw himself into the debate. In contrast of the young and vigorous thinking of New Youth, the old-school appeared ageing and fainting. It must be admitted, however, that the old faction constituted an effective part of the May 4th culture, which led to the full unfolding of the May 4th new cultural movement and literary revolution, and the two schools co-existed and played a part together.
