摘　　要：左拉·尼尔·赫斯顿是美国文学史上颇具传奇色彩的黑人女性作家。本文分析了赫斯顿的代表作《他们眼望上苍》中茶点这一人物的伏都教原型,揭示了茶点与伏都教死神盖德之间的内在联系并指出赫斯顿的政治主张:从非洲传统文化中汲取力量,帮助黑人民众确立文化身份、树立文化自信。Zora Neale Hurston is one of the important black female writers in American literature. Their Eyes Were Watching God is regarded as Hurston’s masterpiece. The paper analyzes the Voodoo archetype of Tea Cake in Their Eyes Were Watching God,revealing the relationship between Tea Cake and Guede,the god of Death in Voodoo. The paper also reveals Hurston’s political views: black people should construct cultural identity and cultural confidence through the inheritance of African traditional culture.
