浅谈隐喻在外语词汇教学中的可行性及应用

摘  要:隐喻不仅是一种特殊的语言现象,更是一种复杂的认知现象,指的是参照一个知识域(源域)去理解另一个知识域(靶域),起着连接具体域和抽象域的桥梁作用。隐喻意识的提升对帮助学生加强词汇记忆有着重要作用。本文通过探究隐喻作为语言现象、认知方式和文化载体而具备的语块性、普遍性、民族性三大特征,讨论了在外语教学中培养隐喻意识,巩固词汇学习的必要性和可能性。Metaphor is not only a unique language phenomenon,but more importantly a complex cognitive phenomenon.It serves as a bridge to connect concrete domains to abstract ones,in other words,helps to understand one knowledge domain(abstract)by reference to another knowledge domain(concrete).Therefore,promoting metaphor awareness contributes greatly to vocabulary acquisition.This essay discusses the trio roles of metaphor as language phenomenon,cognitive pattern and culture carrier,and meanwhile points out its respective trio nature of chunking,pervasiveness and nationality to demonstrate that it's highly necessary and potential to enhance vocabulary acquisition through cultivating metaphor awareness in foreign language teaching.
