摘　　要：威廉·福克纳的《献给艾米莉的玫瑰》塑造了艾米莉这一经典人物形象,小说叙述的事件对人的触动之大与叙述言语之平淡形成了强烈的反差,主人公情感蕴蓄的深度与强度、小说结尾的出人意料、小说中的诸多矛盾之处,都给读者留下了深刻的印象。从混沌阅读理论解析小说阅读的多元有界,从文本细读角度解析人物形象塑造的精要,细致解读这篇短篇小说何以成为经典名作。William Faulkner’s novel A Rose for Emily portrays Emily as a classic character. The event narrated in the novel has a strong contrast with the ordinary narrative language. The depth and intensity of the protagonist’s emotions, the unexpected ending of the novel, and many contradictions in the novel have left a deep impression on the readers. From the perspective of chaotic reading theory, this paper analyses the boundedness of novel reading, the essence of character image creation from the perspective of text close reading, and the reason why this short story has become a classic masterpiece.
