摘　　要：本文从"绅士愿景"与"共同体理想"两个维度切入,通过对金斯利小说《奥尔顿·洛克》的阐释,论证维多利亚人对于绅士在教育、品位、审美以及身体规训方面的要求,指出绅士观念对于维多利亚时期共同体意识形成的重要意义,并据此进一步阐释小说中通过想象共同的盎格鲁·撒克逊血统孕育出的"民族情感"与以基督教社会主义思想为基础形成的"宗教信仰"作为两大重要维系关系对于实现当时英国共同体理想起到的重要作用。Taking the gentleman vision and the community ideals as two perspectives, this paper conducts an analysis of Kingsley’s novel Alton Locke, and proposes that the idea of gentleman is of great importance to the formation of community consciousness in the English Victorian Age by the dimensions of education, taste, aesthetic views and body discipline. On the foundation, two major links, namely, national sentiment stemming from imaged common Saxon kinships and religious beliefs on the basis of Christian socialism, are also highlighted to expound their significance on the realization of English community ideals.
