摘  要:周宗莲是近代中国著名的水利学家、教育家,早年留学英国专习水利、考察英国高等工程教育。通过其研究发现,抗战之前英国已构建灵活完善的教育制度,而高等工程教育学理短实习长,讲义教材紧密联系实际,注重学生专业基础与实践经验养成,专业考试制度严格,学校、企业与工程学会等合作共同培养人才的独特教育模式,对我国工程教育的改革与发展具有重要的启示:一、工程学理应紧密联系中国工程实际,学以致用;二、与工程学会等合作办学,以提升整体教育水平;三、工程学理方式多样化,精细化培养专业人才。Zhou Zonglian,a famous hydraulic scientist and educator in modern China,studied hydraulics in England and conducted researches on the higher engineering education there in the early period. He found that a flexible engineering education system had been established in England before World War II. In addition,the higher engineering education in England attaches great importance to the integration of basic knowledge and practice,the combination of reality with profession in textbook compiling,the joint cultivation among universities,enterprises and engineer societies,etc. The model of engineering education provides clues to current engineering education reform and development in China. First,engineering education should be closely linked with China’s engineering practice;secondly,it should cooperate with engineering societies to improve the overall level of education;thirdly,it should diversify the ways of learning and cultivate professional talents with specialized approaches.
