摘　　要：As the essence of philosophical discourse,metaphor exists in various philosophical thoughts.This paper is an attempt to reveal the role that metaphor plays in the process of seeking truth,which is the ultimate goal of philosophy,by analyzing the origin of metaphor,the relationship between metaphor and philosophy as well as the use of metaphor in Gadamer’s philosophical hermeneutics.
