摘　　要：作为后现代主义作家,厄普代克在半个世纪的笔耕生涯里始终坚持现实主义创作手法,成果斐然。宗教信仰等因素对厄普代克选择现实主义创作手法影响深远。同时,厄普代克“人生多难”的人生观、对英国现实主义文学思想的传承等方面,也对其现实主义创作风格的形成有着不可替代的作用。As a post - modernist writer, John Updike’s writing career in half a century has always insisted realistic writing style, with impressive results. Updike’s religious belief poses profound and far - reaching impact on his choice of realistic writing style. Meanwhile, Updike’s " Life is difficult" outlook on life, the heritage of British realistic literary tradition also exert significant influence on the formation of his realistic novel writing style.
