摘　　要：上海建筑师奚福泉是具有代表性的中国现代主义建筑师,他曾留学德国,先后取得建筑学工学硕士和博士学位,他是20世纪20年代极少有完整欧洲留学经历的中国建筑师,与同时代留美建筑师相比,在中国第一代建筑师群体中可谓是"儋石之储"。文章秉承建筑师史的学术脉络,基于现有的文献史料和历史图档的梳理,发掘建筑师奚福泉的现代建筑设计思想理念,试图重新认识不同留学背景下的中国第一代建筑师对中国建筑的现代化历程所做出的重要贡献。Shanghai architect Fohzien Godfrey Ede is a representative Chinese modernist architect.He studied in Germany and obtained master’s and doctoral degrees in Engineering of Architecture.He is a Chinese architect who had rare experience of studying in Europe in the 1920 s.Compared with the Chinese architects who studied in the United States at the same time,he is a "rare case" in the first generation of Chinese architects.In line with the academic research of the history of architects,the paper explores the modem architectural design concept of architect Fohzien Godfrey Ede based on available historical archives.Considering their different backgrounds in studying abroad,it tries to re-think the important contribution made by the first generation of Chinese architects to the modernization of Chinese architecture.
