Does the Related Variety Promote Enterprises’ Innovation?——Evidence from the Listed Companies

摘　　要：本文依据雅各布外部性理论和交易费用理论,基于1998—2013年上市公司数据,运用泊松计数模型、Tobit模型和Probit模型,从企业研发行为和专利申请两个维度对相关多样性与企业创新之间的关系进行实证分析。研究发现:相关多样性对企业研发行为和专利申请产生正向作用;从企业性质来看,相关多样性对民营企业研发动机的正向作用更为明显,对国有企业研发投入的正向作用更为显著,对国有企业专利申请的正向促进作用更为明显;从地区考察,东部地区相关多样性对企业研发动机、研发投入及其专利申请均具有正向作用,中、西部地区相关多样性对企业研发行为和专利申请影响并不显著。According to Jacob's externality theory and transaction cost theory,this paper utilizes enterprises data from 1998 to 2013 to investigate the influence of related variety on enterprise innovation,and applies Poisson counting model,Tobit model and Probit model to analyze enterprises R&D behavior and patent application.The results shows that:the related variety has a positive effect on the enterprises R&D behavior and patent application;the related variety has a significant positive effect on the R&D motivation of private enterprises and has a significant positive effect on the R&D investment and patent application of state-owned enterprises.The related variety has positive effects on the motivation of R&D,R&D investment and patent application in the eastern region;The related diversity has no significant impact on R&D behavior and patent application in central and western regions.
