摘 要:20世纪50年代起,中国高科技移民浪潮在美国出现五次。大批高教育水准华人涌向硅谷,就职于各类世界知名企业。这些华人专才凭借自身的社会文化资本和硅谷的独特环境,运用各种关系网络建立社会组织,进而利用高技术网络取得经济成功。但因中美文化差异等原因,也使他们遭受某些歧视并阻碍其进一步发展。在当今全球化与地方化并存的世界,社会网络对于政治经济作用巨大;社会文化资本对于移民追求社会流动、民主平等及个人和集体目标至关重要,海外华人企业家与各国政府对此均应提高认知意识。China has enjoyed five waves of high-tech immigrants to the United States since the 1950s. A large number of highly educated Chinese have flocked to Silicon Valley working for some world-renowned companies. With their social and cultural capital and the unique environment of Silicon Valley, these Chinese professionals have built social organizations by using various networks of connections, and then achieved economic success.However, due to the cultural differences between China and the US, they are discriminated against and hindered from further development. In today's world of globalization and localization, social network plays an important role in political economy, so that social and cultural capital is crucial to immigrants' pursuit of social mobility, democracy and equality, as well as individual and collective goals. All in all, both overseas Chinese entrepreneurs and governments should raise their awareness.
