摘　　要：严复是近代以来在民族图存的大背景下审视国民性改造问题的第一人,开启了近代思想界批判国民劣根性的先河。他深刻揭示和尖锐批判了近代社会的国民劣根性,并提出改造国民性的具体实践路径。深化对严复改造国民性思想的研究,挖掘其改造国民性思想中的价值意蕴,对重塑新时代“中国性格”,促进新时代中国精神建构、树立中华民族文化自信心和弘扬传统文化,加快建设新时代精神文化风貌,构建社会主义现代化强国不无裨益。Yan Fu, the first person to examine the problem of national character transformation under the background of national survival in modern times, set a precedent for modern ideological circles to criticize the national inferiority. He profoundly exposed and sharply criticized the national inferiority of modern society, and proposed the concrete and practical ways of reforming the national character. It is beneficial in the new era for remolding the “Chinese character”, promoting the construction of Chinese spirit, building up the cultural confidence of the Chinese nation and the traditional culture, speeding up the construction of the spiritual and cultural style, and building socialism country of powers by deepening the research on Yan Fu’s thought of remolding national character, and its value implication.
