雾与本体困境——《长夜漫漫路迢迢》中的雾意象研究

摘　　要：《长夜漫漫路迢迢》(Long Day’s Journey into Night)是尤金奥尼尔的代表作之一。此剧中大量雾元素的出现,与现代人本体困境有着密切关联,其营造的整体悲剧氛围伴随着蒂龙一家剧情发展,且富含丰厚的意象。雾作为逃避现实的屏障,也象征着本体困境下人物精神的极度空虚。由于经历死的痛苦和生的煎熬,他们无法摆脱这种困境,只能用雾来暂时麻痹自己的心灵。奥尼尔展示出鲜明的意象,使原本平淡的故事引起了读者共鸣。Long Day's Journey into Night is the masterpiece of Eugene O'Neill. The appearance of fog is closely related to the ontology dilemma of modern people. It has a luxuriant images that cause an overall tragic atmosphere, which promotes the development of plot and is surrounded by the characters in this play. As the barrier help people escape from reality, fog also symbolizes the spirit of them is extremely empty under the affection of the ontological dilemma. Because the Tyrone has suffered from the pain of death and the suffering of live, they can't get rid of this predicament so that they can only use the fog to paralyze their mind temporarily. O'Neill shows a vivid image of the fog, which makes the original story resonate with the reader.
