摘　　要：A bronze yue battle-axe was picked up in Area Ⅲ of the Erlitou site in June 2000.It has a rectangular plan and seems to come from a tomb.Judging from the shape and the style of decoration,it must be of the late Erlitou culture.This is the earliest among the Chinese bronze yue so far discovered.Metallographical examination and composition analysis reveals that it is made of bronze with low tin content and cast in a double mould.X-ray photography shows insufficient in the compactness of its body structure and other defects,which resulted from a certain primitiveness of its casting technology.A bronze yue battle-axe was picked up in Area III of the Erlitou site in June 2000.
