摘　　要：伯纳德·马拉默德是美国小说家。其《店员》这篇小说中,作为鞋匠出身的父亲对孩子婚姻的看法完全不同于孩子自己的选择,虽然担心孩子的最终选择会达不到他期待的幸福美满,但最终还是尊重孩子自己的决定。作者用怜悯而扭曲的幽默手法描绘了移民美国的犹太人对美好生活的追求和对子女教育的先进理念。Bernard·Malamud is an American novelist.This article is inspired by the theme of marriage choice involved in his novel"The Assistant."As a shoemaker,the father has his view of marriage different from his daughter's choice,and while he fears that the child's ultimate choice will not lead to a happy ending as he has been expecting,he will ultimately respect her own choice.With a sympathetic and distorted humorous attitude,the author introduces the readers the pursuit of a good life and the advanced concept of children's education getting from immigrants to the United States.
