中英高校教学对比:中国留学生在英读书常见的跨文化问题

摘　　要：高等教育国际化是全球高校发展的必然趋势。国际学生则是国际化过程中不可或缺的群体。[1]他们在社会、文化、经济等诸多方面都为其所属大学、城市,以及留学所在国家做出了不可小觑的贡献。然而多项研究表明,国际学生在做出贡献的同时,由于教育方式、语言、文化等方面的差异,也在教学、测试、学生服务方面给英国高校带来了前所未有的挑战。本文以中国留学生在英国遇到的常见问题为例,对比阐述两国在教学、文化、生活等方面的差异,强调在国际化背景下培养师生跨文化交流能力的重要性。Internationalisation is a global trend for higher education institutions.International students as an essential resource for the internationalisation process are indispensable for world-class universities.As Russell Group(2017)suggest,international students are bringing social,cultural,and economic contributions to the universities,the local regions,as well as the host countries.Despite their contributions,international students face more challenges compared to home students,such as language barriers,cultural differences,academic and social integration,and so on so forth.Ironically,as the most visible aspect of internationalisation,the voices of international students are often missed during the process.This paper presents the most common issues that Chinese students face during their study in the UK.It explains the academic,cultural and social differences between the two countries and calls for a need to enhance the cross-cultural communication skills for both international students and educational practitioners.
