摘 要:特殊科技英语(ESST)与普通科技英语(ECST)皆类属科技英语(EST),常以言据性为词汇语法手段,基于不同的交际对象和目的表达不同的意义、以不同的方式建构命题信息。选取“自下而上”(措辞→意义)视角,以60篇ESST和ECST语篇实例自建语料库,“不平衡——顺序混合式设计”为方法,UAM Corpus Tool 3.0为工具标注并挖掘数据,旨在依据言据性的体现形式、分布状况和高频词选择中的数据差异,阐释语体异同。研究发现:两者都注重模糊作者身份、保留对话空间、视觉感知、规避信念曝光,而在具体传信内容上各有特点:ESST重客观事实、观点可证、信息开放、引证严肃,ECST重主观经验、观点真实、信息确定、引证直观。该研究对科技英语写作者在传信和信息可靠化方面的语体把握有借鉴意义。English of Science&Technology(EST)is composed of English of Specialized Science&Technology(ESST)and English of Common Science&Technology(ECST).In both,evidentiality is often used as a lexicogrammatical device to express different meanings in distinct contexts and to construct the prepositional information by dissimilar means.This tentative exploration,by applying the“from-below”perspective,60 texts from ESST and ECST as corpus,“unbalance-sequential-mix”design as methodology,UMA Corpus Tool 3.0 as the tool for tagging and data mining,aims at clarifying their stylistic divergence in evidential usage in terms of its realization patterns,distribution patterns,and most frequent lexical choices.The result indicates:both ESST and ECST favor fuzzification of authorship,reservation for dialogic space,visual perception,and avoidance from exposing beliefs,whereas the difference lies in the specific contents:ESST prefers sensing objective facts,reporting re-examinable standpoints,inferring information as open-ended,and emphasizing a rigorous attitude towards belief,but ECST sensing subjective experiences,reporting the point of view whose contents are actually occurred,inferring information as ascertainable,and emphasizing the directness of belief.The paper,especially for EST writers and learners,can be a reference for defining styles in indicating information and committing to its reliability.
