摘　　要：普通读者的消失,标志着文学批评的异化。在过去几十年中,文学界轻视乃至敌视普通读者的倾向酿成了国际潮流,在学府和研究机构的高墙内外,西方文论曲高和寡。更可悲的是,某些对文学从无热肠的人竟窃据了评判文学作品的权位,并据以传播自身一窍不通的东西。在这一现象的背后,是去经典化、去审美化、泛政治化的鼓噪。如果不对此作出切实的回应,世间就不可能重现普通读者的亲切身影。古往今来,不少文人学者曾为建构普通读者传统作出了艰苦卓绝的努力,而于今当务之急在彻底揭露去经典化潮流的谬误。The disappearance of the common reader is a sign of the alienation of literary criticism.Over the past few decades,the tendency to treat the common reader with contempt and hostility,in the fields of art and literature,has become an international trend,which has resulted in the insularity and inaccessibility of Western literary theories,both in and out of institutions of higher learning and academic research.What proves to be more saddening is that there are among those people with no great appetite for literature quite a number who have usurped the position to judge and discourse upon literary works,and often to distribute what they don't understand.Behind this phenomenon is the uproar celebrating decanonization,deaestheticization and politicization.Only by responding earnestly to such a phenomenon can we welcome back the endearing figure of the common reader.Throughout the past few ages a good many literati and scholars have made tremendous efforts to construct the tradition of the common reader,but our task of top priority at present is to expose the fallacies of the trend of decanonization.
