Linear algebra case teaching is a new model based on "new engineering course". Integrating linear algebra into majors, it stimulates students learning interest and promotes the concretization of abstract knowledge, thus playing an important role in the improvement of the teaching level and the cultivation of research talents. By introducing the background of the linear algebra case teaching based on"new engineering course", this paper shows the importance of implenting case teaching. It illustrates the content of constructing the curriculum, including how to organically combine linear algebra and majors, what principals to follow in the process of designing cases, and how to construct new type of exams. It also emphatically introduces the obstacles and resolution strategies, explaining the resonable principals for case teaching, ie. simplicity, practicality, and necessary software and hardware support. Finally, it summarizes the effect of case teaching, which not only enables students to solve related major problems by using linear algebra, but also improves the logical thinking ability and practical application ability.
