摘　　要：刘先生天赋过人,成就卓然,在中国古汉语、音韵学、文献学、哲学、经济学、数学、外语(英语、俄语、德语、法语)、古典学、印度学、汉学等不同领域有极高的造诣。正因如此,他才能在中外古史比较研究中取得不凡的成就。借用凯恩斯1922年评价英国杰出经济学家阿尔弗雷德·马歇尔的话,刘家和先生可被誉为中国史学园林中“一只极为珍稀的鸟”。Professor Liu Jiahe,a rarest of birds in the academic garden of history,possesses a rare combination of gifts,and has reached a high standard in several directions,including ancient Chinese language,phonology,philology,philosophy,economics,mathematics,foreign languages(English,Russian,German,French),classics,Indology,Sinology and so on.So he has been able to make spectacular achievements in the comparative studies of Chinese and foreign ancient history.
