华侨高等教育“培养什么人”的历史探析——以暨南大学为例

摘　　要："培养什么人"是任何教育的基础性命题,是国家意志在教育领域的体现。不同的政权对华侨高等教育的目的"培养什么人"有不同的设定,用来服务于其政治需求。暨南大学作为华侨高等教育的典型代表,经历了晚清、民国和中华人民共和国三个时期,政权的性质各不相同,其教育对象的培养目标也发生着变化。但不管哪个时期、政权是什么性质、学生身份发生什么变化,培养学生具有民族和文化的认同感一直是暨南大学的重要使命。在培养目标的达成度上,由于国内外局势稳定、措施得力,中华人民共和国成立以后的华侨高等教育很好地实现了其教育目标,较好地满足了国家对华侨高等教育的需求。"What kind of person to cultivate"is a key proposition of any education and reflects the will of the state in education field.Different regimes have different definitions on"what kind of person to cultivate"to fulfil its political demands.As a typical example of overseas Chinese higher education,Jinan University experiences three periods of the late Qing dynasty,Republic of China and PRC.Because of different natures of regimes,the object of education changes.No matter of the time,the nature of regime and the change of status of students,one important mission of Jinan University is to cultivate students with ethnic and cultural identity.On the degree of fulfillment of object,benefiting from stable situation in outside and insider country,suitable measures,overseas Chinese higher education fulfills its object well and meets the needs of country after the foundation of PRC.
