Objective To analyze the chromosome results of both husband and wife retrospectively, to investigate the relationship between abnormal chromosome karyotype and pregnancy abortion and infertility. Methods Chromosome karyotype in the peripheral blood of 968 aborted couples and 86 infertile couples were analyzed in department of reproductive medicine, the First Affiliated Hospital of Shihezi University from March 2011 to February 2018 while using R banding method. Results(1)According to the analysis of chromosome karyotypes, abnormal chromosome karyotypes accounted for 3.4% of the aborted pregnant couples, the abnormal karyotype of men accounted for 4.5%, which was significantly higher than that of women. The difference was statistically significant(x^2 = 3.80,P <0.05).(2)Infertile couples had an abnormal chromosome karyotype of 5.8%, and male abnormal chromosome karyotype accounted for7.0%, which was higher than that of women, However, the difference was not statistically significant(x^2 = 0.212,P > 0.05). Conclusion The karyotype analysis can be used to assist in the diagnosis of abortion and infertility, is also very important for screening and prenatal eugenics.
