Objective To analyze the expression and significance of CD4^+CD25^high regulatory T cells in bladder cancer and normal bladder tissues. Methods The expression of CD4^+CD25^high regulatory T cells in80 cases of bladder cancer and50 cases of normal bladder tissues was analyzed with immunohistochemistry, and the correlation between expression of CD4^+CD25^high regulatory T cells and clinicopathological features was discussed. Results Bladder cancer tissues had significantly higher percentage of CD4^+CD25^high regulating T cells than normal bladder tissues[(34.79±1.05)% vs.(7.86±0.82)%].The expression of CD4^+CD25^high regulated T cells was positively correlated with pathological grade of bladder tumors(P=0.02),but not with gender, age or lymphatic metastasis(P>0.05).Conclusion CD4^+CD25^high regulatory T cells are highly expressed in bladder cancer tissues, which is correlated with the pathological grade of bladder cancer. The increase of CD4^+CD25^high regulatory T cells may be related to the pathogenesis and progression of bladder cancer.
