摘　　要：20世纪中前期在美国先后出现了两本英文中国史学史专著,分别是贾德纳的《中国传统史学》以及华裔学者韩玉珊的《中国史学纲要》。贾著具有开创性意义,堪为汉学研究之入门工具,除了介绍中国传统史籍的分类以及中国史学批评的发展史,也比较了中西史学观念和编撰方式,对中国传统史学提出了批评。韩著稍晚于贾著,在美国汉学界也具有一定的影响力,可补贾著之不足,其篇幅更长,材料上也有较大增补,对中国史籍和史学研究方法的分类更为细致,还列出了大量术语的翻译以及"二十六史"的表格。韩著虽然对中国传统史学多有肯定,但也从九个方面展开了批评。两部书因其开拓意义及入门工具价值依然值得今日之研究者关注。In the first half of the 20th Century,two English comprehensive history of traditional Chinese historiography were published successively.The former was Gardner's Chinese Traditional Historiography,which was the earliest English-language work in this field.The latter was Han Yu--shan's Elements of Chinese Historiography.Both books introduced a brief history of Chinese historiography,classified traditional historiographical classics,and made some criticisms on the traditional Chinese historiography.The two scholars’comparison between Chinese historiography and that of the West was representative in the Western sinology.The values of these two books lie in their groundbreaking writing of Chinese traditional historiography in English language.
