摘　　要：扬州盐商对扬州教育发展最直接的贡献主要体现在捐建、资助书院方面。扬州盐商的捐资助学行为,不仅为他们赢得了良好的社会声誉和名望,对扬州崇儒尚贾社会风气的形成也起到了良好的引领作用。这一公益行为主客观上都有力地推动了扬州文化教育的发展。扬州盐商"贾而尚儒"的文化自觉与社会担当精神为今人看待经济与教育发展关系问题提供了典范并具启示意义。The most direct contribution of Yangzhou salt merchants to the development of Yangzhou education mainly lies in donation for construction and financing academies.Yangzhou salt merchants’ donation for education not only won them a good social reputation and fame, but also played a good leading role in the formation of the social atmosphere of advocating culture and business in Yangzhou. This public welfare has effectively promoted the development of cultural education in Yangzhou both subjectively and objectively. Yangzhou salt merchants’ cultural consciousness and social responsibility provides reference for modern people to view the relationship between economic and educational development.
