摘  要:专门用途英语(ESP)是与某种特定职业或学科相关的英语,具有较强的目的性、专业性和实用性,呼应了当前专业集群发展的改革趋势。目前,高职通用英语(EGP)教学所培养的人才难以适应新时代行业所需,因此应加快向ESP教学转型,转变传统教学理念,建设多元化课程资源,将ESP师资培训与社会性培训相结合,根据学习者需求开发教材,采用跨学科合作教学,构建知识+技能ESP考评体系,以培养学生语用交际能力,提高就业竞争力。English for Specific Purposes(ESP)is English related to a specific occupation or subject,which is particularly goal-directed,specialized and practical.Therefore,it echoes the current reform trend of the development of major clusters.At present,the talents cultivated by English for General Purposes(EGP)teaching model in higher vocational colleges have diffi-culties in adapting to the needs of the industry in the new era.Multiple suggestions were given in regard to accelerate the transi-tion to ESP teaching,including:(1)transforming traditional teaching concepts,(2)constructing diversified curriculum re-sources,(3)combining ESP teacher training with societal training,(4)developing teaching materials according to the needs of learners,(5)adopting interdisciplinary cooperative teaching,(6)building a knowledge+skill ESP assessment system.It is believe that through carrying out the above strategies,we can cultivate students’pragmatic communicative competence and improve their employment competitiveness.
