摘　　要：讨论医学学术英语写作教学中,指导学生研读期刊作者须知的重要性,指出学生首先阅读论文文本写作必须了解和掌握的基本要求和技巧,以期撰写出符合特定期刊学术规范和特别要求的英文版论文,确保投稿得到受理。这是投稿获得成功发表的第一步。研读作者须知的主要内容和技巧包括:期刊受理投稿的主题范围,论文结构和篇幅要求,图表的数量、质量及编辑要求,参考文献格式,缩略语的使用,对英文表达的要求;还有注意阅读编辑部发布的最新版本的指南,同时参阅同领域影响因子更高、更权威期刊的作者指南;有些期刊提供的有关论文某些章节的具体写作技巧也值得认真阅读。In teaching academic writing to graduate students in medical sciences,it is of great importance to instruct them in intensively reading the Authors’Instructions of the journal intended for manuscript submission.The student authors’attention is to be directed firstly to the specific requirements for effectively writing the text proper in acceptable academic English and in appropriate format so as to ensure process of the submitted manuscript by the editor of the intended journal,which is the first step to successful publication.The following are some major requirements and skills for studying the authors’instructions:the scope of the topics favored by the intended journal,the space limit for the article(usually in number of words or characters),the requirements for tables and figures(in terms of quantity and quality),the format of references or literature cited,the careful use of abbreviations,the accepted English language(mainly American or British spellings),the latest version of the instructions,and reference to a parallel instructions of a journal of higher impact factors or greater authority in the same field of the intended journal.It is also recommended that the specific instruction in writing some particular part of the manuscript by some journals is well worth careful reading.
